Choc Balls Recipe

Here's a quick and easy recipe for a delicious healthy treat. These chocolate balls only take 10 minutes to make, require zero baking, are packed with whole foods for lasting energy and joint-supporting healthy fats (and they are 100% nut free, making them safe for school lunchboxes!)

Ingredients:

50g Oats

50g Desiccated coconut 25g 100% cocoa powder

20g Sunflower seeds

150g Pitted Dates

35g Golden or Maple Syrup

Method:

Remove the stones from the dates if they are not already pitted.

Place the oats, coconut, cocoa powder, golden syrup and sunflower seeds in a food processor and pulse until the sunflower seeds are roughly chopped.

Add the dates and keep pulsing until all the ingredients come together. (This can take a few minutes.)

Mould into ball shapes with your hands.

Top Tips:

Mixture too dry? Add a splash of water or extra golden syrup.

Mixture too wet? Pulse some extra sunflower seeds or cocoa powder or oats.

Mixture too sticky? Chill it in the fridge after blending for about 15 minutes before rolling it into balls.

Soak the dates: If your dates are a bit dry, soak them in warm water for 10-15 minutes to soften them up before blending.

Variations:

Swap the sunflower seeds for pumpkin seeds or a mixture of pumpkin, hemp and flax seed.
